ABOUT THE BOOK
TEMPO POINT is a Louis Vuitton Travel Book set within the iconic League of Legends IP, imagining the home of virtual pop supergroup K/DA. The book features pieces by artists from across the world. Each page shows a slice of the individual lives of K/DA members Ahri (vocalist), Akali (rapper), Evelynn (vocalist), and Kai’Sa (vocalist and lead dancer/choreographer).
ABOUT K/DA
K/DA reimagines four playable League of Legends champions as artists with their own identities, styles, and creative voices. The group’s name references in-game shorthand for the player’s Kills, Deaths, and Assists. Since debuting in 2018 with the viral hit “POP/STARS,” K/DA has grown from a K-pop inspired group to a global pop phenomenon, helping redefine how beloved game characters can transcend the monitor and connect with audiences through reinvented alter-egos, music and culture. With a catalog spanning their chart topping debut single and ALL OUT EP, the group has amassed more than 2.7 billion global streams and 1.8 billion video views, with “POP/STARS” earning RIAA platinum certification.
ABOUT AIRI PAN (Art Director, Tempo Point)
Airi Pan is a visual development artist and illustrator from sunny Los Angeles, whose work in entertainment spans from AAA video games to feature film animation. Currently, she works for Riot Games where she is a Visual Story Development Artist. Recently, she supported K/DA’s music video Firestarter, and art directed the Louis Vuitton Travel Book Tempo Point, which follows a day in the life of K/DA’s members.
Born in Wuxi, China, she brings an East-meets-West perspective to her practice, blending her training in Western art academia with a deep passion for Eastern pop culture such as anime and manga.
Having worked with clients including Blizzard Entertainment, Pixar, and Activision, Airi sees concept design and illustration as more than creating beautiful imagery. She believes art should serve a larger vision, using design to bring stories, characters, and worlds to life.
