This art show expands on my ever evolving journey with grief and love through my fragmented memories. Remembering my shadows and trying to bring them to light while tending to myself with compassion was the inspiration for all of these pieces. 

There is such deep, profound love we can find for ourselves and finding it builds an expansive world that is rich with multidimensional love. That's my biggest discovery through creating this collection!

Lucy Yu is a writer and multi-disciplinary artist living in Brooklyn, New York. She is also the owner of Yu & Me Books in Manhattan’s Chinatown, the first queer Asian American bookstore in New York City. Yu & Me Books specializes in immigrant stories, writers of color, and historically marginalized experiences.
