Dollars & Sense | Foundational Financial Literacy for Children of Immigrants

  • Yu and Me Books 44 Mulberry Street New York, NY, 10013 United States (map)

No RSVPs Required.

Financial health is a cornerstone of an individual’s wellbeing. However, financial literacy is often not readily available, particularly within immigrant & racially marginalized communities. What do you do with your money? Where do you put it? What does it mean to invest? Is it awful to have debt? How do you take care of yourself financially? Here, we’ll discuss the elements of financial health & literacy, as it relates to being a child of immigrants and/or person of colour.

Maggie Huang was born & raised in Brooklyn, to Cantonese immigrants. She has been a Financial Advisor with Equitable for twelve years. She has worked predominantly with immigrant families, weaving in Chinese & English into multigenerational client relationships. Since the racial reckoning of recent years, she is fueled by the desire to alter the racial wealth gap.
